Vovó Rosane

Last thursday Solange and I spent some time with my grandson and his momma. We took him to Baskin Robbins for ice cream, then to get a toy, he even picked one toy out for his Daddy for when he went to visit they could play together. (same thing, different color) He got some more ice cream to take home for later. They make "slow melting" popcicles now!. We got back to their place and I wanted to get some pictures. He grows so fast!! He rode his bike for alittle while, played with his new toys. The best thing though (for me) was when he called me Vovó for the first time ever. His momma went to correct him, he had been calling my mom vovó all this time, but proudly I told her it was OK because vovó means grandma in portuguese. I rather him call me that. I didn't want to force him though. He can call my mom bisavó, great-grandmother.
I needed to mark this date, means alot to me. (smiles)
I try to call my grandson once a week. He doesn't like to stay long on the phone though. When I call I speak first to his momma and then I speak alittle with him asking how his week went. Sometimes I can even hear his momma in the background giving suggestions on what to talk about, like I said he doesn't like to talk for long. When he's had enough, out of nowhere he say's "goodbye" and hands the phone back to his momma. I always laugh because even after all the times he's done this, he still catches me by surprise.
Last time I called to talk to him though the conversation seemed to go on and on for longer than any other time. This time when he got to the end though, it sounded as if he put the phone as close as he could to the phone so his momma wouldn't here and said "I'm done talking to you". I laughed so hard!!
